MIRЯOR: Framework, their first EP, is a four-song collection about romanticizing about one’s dream and wanting it to fit into a perfect box but knowing that it doesn’t quite work out that way. It embraces the in-betweens in life and love, the darkness in yourself that you must overcome. It captures the uncomfortable feelings of waiting, hoping, and questioning yourself along the journey of turning that dream into reality.
MIRЯOR: Vision, their second EP, is about coming out of the darkness and refocusing the image you have of
yourself when you look in the mirror. It’s about redefining your identity and concentrating on who you want
to become and why.Part of this process is learning who you can trust, leaning on the support system around you, and the theme of family. It’s about learning to take the foundation of love you were built on and using it to love yourself enough to trust your own gut.
MIRЯOR: Breakthrough, the third and final EP, is about confidently embodying the vision of who you want to
be and becoming that person. Breaking through the framework, the vision, and stepping into the destiny of
who you’ve fought to become. It’s a big middle finger to those who betrayed or doubted you on the journey,
and a big welcome home hug to yourself. A breakthrough!
MIRЯOR is dedicated to their grandmother, Barbara Mitchell Burrow, who passed away unexpectedly in December 2022. “She was our family matriarch and known as our most beloved ‘Nammy,’” says Jordan, “She originally wanted to be named ‘Grammy’ because she knew, as she put it, she would be ‘an award-winning grandma.’ We can only hope to win a Grammy one day in her honor.” A Grammy for Nammy is only one of their goals but it’s what pushes them onward. “In our final moments together, she was unable to speak but could write letters with her finger,” says the sisters. She spelled out, ‘Sing.’ She believed in us so fiercely and wanted us to keep singing. So, we continue, even with broken hearts and without our compass. We find peace in knowing she got to listen to the album before passing. In losing her, we were humbled and shockingly reminded of the frailty of life. It took losing her to realize just how quickly things can change. Life is short, and we hope that by chasing after our dreams, we encourage others to do the same.”
